International Gay News Headlines (T25T-3)

Nearly 10,000 people gathered in Trafalgar Square last night for a candle-lit vigil against hate crime. The packed square observed a two minutes silence, after which the names of the victims of homophobic hate crimes were read out. The Prime Minister's wife Sarah Brown attended and spoke exclusively to PinkNews.co.uk


Prime Minister Gordon Brown has sent a letter of support to those attending and organising this evenings hate crime vigil. The candle lit vigil, which is expecting to attract up to 10,000 people, will commemorate the life of Ian Baynhan, who was murdered in a homophobic attack two weeks ago.


A PE teacher who was suspended earlier this year over a gay porn photo shoot has resigned. Sam Handley was suspended from Harvey Grammar School in Folkestone in September when explicit photographs of him intended for a gay porn site were circulated by pupils.

(Russia) Gay and Lesbian Film Festival “Bok o Bok” which was supposed to take place in Saint Petersburg from today and last until Sunday finally did not open after Fire Department Inspectors closed the place due to problems with fire security. In a phone interview to Project GayRussia.Ru, Organiser of the festival Irina Sergeeva said that the clubs “The Place” and “Sochi” where the screenings of the films were supposed to take place, were closed due to fire security reasons.

A straw poll of over 300 GayNZ.com readers has found that their most popular viewing at 7pm isn't Shortland Street or a current affairs show - it's Family Guy on C4.
Wellington's annual central city outdoor fair day will return in January, aiming to top 10,000 visitors, pack Civic Square with high-quality stalls, and entertain the crowd with more fabulous performers and games.
