DOUBLE STANDARD: On the Tuesday edition of the Today Show, Matt Lauer interviewed both Perez Hilton and Miss California Carrie PreJean about the anti-gay marriage views Prejean revealed during the Miss USA 2009 pageant. But while Lauer grilled Hilton, he had what seemed to be lovefest with Prejean, perhaps revealing his own feelings about same-sex marriage in the process.
Miley Cyrus tweets love: Perez Hilton continued his self-made media blitz and roped Miley Cyrus into the Miss California and same-sex marriage debate via Twitter. Miley reminded Twitter followers, “God’s greatest commandment is to love. And judging is not loving.”
CALIFORNIA'S NEW GOVERNOR? San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom formally announced Tuesday that he will be running for governor of California in 2010. Nearly as progressive as his political stance is the way he made the announcement – simultaneously through Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Today the Human Rights Campaign released a new video in conjunction with the campaign to pass federal hate crimes legislation.  The video, “10 Years,” features Judy Shepard, whose son Matthew was murdered in 1998 in Laramie, Wyoming because he was gay.
