Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Friday met with the head of the gay affinity group within her department and reiterated her pledge to review the inequities in how the State Department treats its gay and straight employees.
Michelle Schohn, president of Gays & Lesbians in Foreign Affairs Agencies, said she met with Clinton for 30 minutes along with the heads of nine affinity groups within the State Department.

A gay and transgender-inclusive hate crime bill has been introduced in the Georgia House of Representatives, while a bill requiring HIV testing of prisoners was introduced in the state Senate.
Rep. Pedro “Pete” Marin (D-Duluth) had put forth the hate crimes bill, H.B. 111. It would offer sentence enhancement for hate crimes motivated by the victim's "race, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or national origin."

Atlanta gets free showing of gay 'Star Trek' webisode on Saturday

Atlanta's "Star Trek" fan club offers a free showing Saturday of "Blood and Fire, Part 1," an episode of the internet series "Star Trek: Phase II" that includes a gay relationship. The event takes place at 3 p.m. at Stage Door, a gay bar in Tucker.
Starring and financed by James Crawley, "Star Trek: Phase II" aims to pick up where the original, two-season '60s' show left off. Viewers get new interpretations of classic characters like Capt. Kirk and Spock, plus new characters like Ensign Peter Kirk, Captain Captain Kirk's nephew.
