The Senate staffers who showed up at 9 a.m. for the closed-door meeting refused to leak the contents of their discussion with the tradesman-cum-strategist, but Wurzelbacher himself revealed that the advice they soaked up was just good, old-fashioned "common sense."Wurzelbacher opposes the stimulus and said he questioned why the government can't just cut its bills like other people do. He also advised staffers to take a harder line on the legislation: "Republicans on the Hill are afraid of saying too much," he noted.
Further recommendations from the Karl Rove of the Commode included having "someone go in there and kick some ass."
...[T]he plumber clearly has his fans, both on and off the Hill. Velvetpaintings.com is selling portraits of the pensive-looking plumber-turned-pundit on black velvet for $250 a pop ("Quality You Can Feel").
Yesterday, blogger David Hart published a list of 209 individual Prop. 8 supporters who made donations of $25,000 and greater. In reviewing the list, I couldn’t help noticing that many of the donors are listed as being retirees. This is something that I’ve noticed before while looking at other lists of donors to the Yes on 8 campaign.
I find this troubling because I have an elderly father who lives out of state on a comfortable retirement income. He and his wife own homes in Arizona and Washington State and, like many people my age, I don’t see the folks as often as I should. That’s just life today.
One of the things that I worry about is what the future holds. In ten years, Dad will be in his 80s and my family has a history of Alzheimers. I know that there is a very real possiblity that some smooth-talker could convince him to contribute more than he can afford to a church, charity, or political campaign.
There has been a lot of controversy about the list of Prop. 8 donors being released to the public. One of the things that I think should be viewed as a benefit of listing donations to political campaigns is that it gives people an opportunity to see if their elderly family members may have donated more than they can afford.
The San Francisco Gate has published an online search form that can be used to find Prop. 8 donors in the CA Secretary of State database:
http://www.sfgate.com/webdb/prop8/
I strongly urge everyone who has an elderly relative — living in or outside of California — to enter in that person’s name to see if they made a donation to this campaign. It is a fact that many churches were very aggressive in soliciting donations from their congregations. It is very possible that elderly people were talked into making large contributions that are beyond their means.

I knew that Jesus' General would weigh in on the action. He did so in a letter to fundie Pastor Steven L. Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church (more about him here). The General has some probing questions for the pastor.
The first clip is about what Haas said Haggard told him about Gayle Haggard's knowledge of Haggard's drug use and sexual activity. Haas said that Haggard told him that he and Gayle had a dildo molded of his penis -- which they named "Ted Two" -- which Gayle used to penetrate him. Some people have criticized this aspect of the story, asking why it is relevant. Others have said Haas could just as well be making it up, that it's salacious gossip, etc. Yeah, it's pretty hilarious. And yes, I honestly couldn't care less what they do together, and really, I'm happy to see she's actually enjoying herself if it's true!...The second clip is about Haggard's first meetings with Grant Haas and how, according to Haas, Haggard decided he would be Haas's counselor after finding out he was "struggling" with homosexuality. This is the one where he tells Haas that as a "top" Hass can go straight because "an asshole is similar to a vagina."
But now, new information has come out about Pastor Haggard that makes me wonder if he is truly following our Lord's commandments. I'm particularly concerned about this story from Pastor Haggard's special acolyte, Brother Grant Haas (as recounted by Sister Pam):When Haas asked about her [Haggard's wife, Gayle] knowledge of these things, Ted told him "yes, she's a freak too", they went to sex toy stores and even molded a dildo together (calling it "Ted Two"), and put it into him.I'm not sure what to think about this, so I'm asking you for guidance. Is this kind of thing acceptable? On the one hand, you have Mrs. Haggard strapping on a replica of the pastors little preacher and then giving him a right good rogering. That wouldn't seem to be in keeping with Eph.5:22-24 which commands wives to be submissive....And, is it possible that by engaging in such an act, Pastor haggard was committing the sin of Onan? After all, he was sexually gratifying himself with his own proxy thingy. Or is being reamed by a replicate thingy acceptable? It's not really addressed in Gen.38:9-10 or anywhere else in the Bible--King James Version, anyway-- as far as I can see. They didn't have silicone to make replicas back then, so it probably never came up. And, I think giving yourself a righteous rogering using natural equipment would be impossible. I know, I've never been able to do it. How about you?
