Christine A. McCallum, a married 29-year-old 5th grade teacher in Boston, was arrested earlier this week on accusations that she had sex with a 13-year-old boy over 300 times in a year and a half. McCallum, who was characterized as being “obsessed” with the boy by prosecutors, is also believed to have plied her teenage object of affection with vodka and cranberry drinks, Jello shots and rum during their assignations.
Cynthia Nicole, a leading Honduras transgender rights defender, was murdered on January 9, 2009 in Barrio Guaserique in Comayaguela, a town just outside the Honduran capital, Tegucigalpa. The most recent attack in a rash of murders against transgender people.
