Ziegfeld’s and Secrets, the adjoining gay nightclubs that were displaced nearly three years ago by the Washington Nationals baseball stadium, are expected to reopen in February.
The clubs are slated to open in a warehouse building at 1824 Half St., S.W., less than half a mile from the O Street, S.E., gay entertainment strip that was demolished to make way for the stadium and where Ziegfeld’s and Secrets operated for more than 20 years.

Gay festival moves from June to Halloween

The Atlanta Pride Festival will return to its traditional home in Piedmont Park for 2009, but will change its dates from June to late fall, leaders announced late Monday.
This year's festival will kick off with a series of events throughout the city on Friday, Oct. 30, followed by two days in Piedmont Park: Halloween, Saturday, Oct. 31, and Sunday, Nov. 1.
“We know that Atlanta Pride would not have survived if we had to do another year as street festival, we would have filed bankruptcy,” Pride Committee Chair Deirdre Heffernan said in an interview Monday.
