Combined Gay News Headlines (T5T-1)

"John McCain's Pennsylvania communications director told reporters in the state an incendiary version of the hoax story about the attack on a McCain volunteer well before the facts of the case were known or established — and even told reporters outright that the "B" carved into the victim's cheek stood for "Barack," according to multiple [...]
While we like when celebrities come out for gay rights, we have to raise a skeptical eyebrow at Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt's pledge of support for same-sex marriage. Some of you may recall the couple - who are famous for no particular reason other than that people like to trash talk them - [...]
Polish gays hoped to stage a march in honor of allegedly gay King Wladyslaw III in the town of Krokow, but president Lech Kaczynski, whose brother is allegedly gay, decided to make a pit stop in the town, thus thwarting the march. Yes, I do actually read books that aren’t gay themed — In fact I read more non-gay themed novels and non-fiction books. Here’s some of the more strange books I’ve read and reviewed recently: - Review: Dark Mission: The Secret History of NASA - A Look at ‘The Holographic Universe’ - The Complete Art of Witchcraft Reviewed - Ghosts [...]
NEW YORK, NY (PRNewswire) — TruthWinsOut.org (TWO) launched a new website DumpDobson.com, that calls on the Museum of Broadcast Communications to reverse its decision to honor Focus on the Family’s James Dobson in its Radio Hall of Fame. Lately, there’s been a number of news articles about ‘Out’ gays and lesbians in film and TV as well as ‘gay themed&6;gay themed’ films. The articles have ranged from ‘there’s so few’ to ‘they’re starting to come out of the closets’. A new book called: Out at the Movies: A History of Gay Cinema; coming out [...]

Add this one to the pile. A vile video of McCain/Palin supporters -- the Base that the GOP nominee has worked so hard to win over and keep in the fold -- exhibiting the kind of behavior no sane person would want to be associated with, but here we are. These people own their racism and hatred for Barack Obama.

At least these people are honest. That's more that we can say about the McCain/Palin team, which has worked overtime to stoke these feelings while trying to keep their hands clean. (Progress Action Now):

Take special note of the children acting like monkeys and calling Obama the "monkey president". The cursing man with the baby was also a special treat:

Spot on. Keith outlines the role of the McCain campaign in promoting this bogus story of race-baiting assault to the right wing MSM.

As reported by TPM earlier, paragraphs from the WPXI reporting on the story included statements from the McCain campaign suggesting the assault was politically motivated -- and the imaginary assailant was a black Obama supporter. Those paragraphs were removed from the article, after Peter Feldman, a mouthpiece for the McCain campaign in Pennsylvania, backed off his assertion that the "B" carved on to the face of the hoaxer Ashley Todd stood for Barack.

Good god. Is this a sitcom?
Joe Wurzelbacher, the most famous plumber in America thanks to John McCain and Sarah Palin, told conservative talk radio host Laura Ingraham Friday he's considering a run for Congress in 2010.

That would pit Wurzelbacher against longtime Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur for Ohio's 9th district on the state's northern border, which includes Toledo and Sandusky. "I'll tell you what, we'd definitely be in one heck of a fight, Marcy Kaptur definitely has a following in this area," he said of the possibility. "But, you know, I'd be up for it."

Look at this asshat statement:
Joe the Plumber all but came out of the water closet for Sen. John McCain on Friday, saying his famous exchange with Sen. Barack Obama made him "scared for America" and that he doesn't trust the Democratic presidential candidate on taxes.

... "When I was face to face with him, my honest first impression was that I expected something more. I had heard so much about 'his presence' in the media that I was surprised to find that he seemed very average," Mr. Wurzelbacher wrote in a live online chat on WashingtonTimes.com (read the transcript with Mr. Wurzelbacher here).

"My gut feeling as he answered my questions? I was scared for America," he wrote in response to a reader who asked "When you were face to face with Obama, what were you thinking and how did it feel?"

You have got to love the Iowa Democrats!

Sarah Palin is making a campaign stop in Des Moines, IA tomorrow and the local Democrats are going to hold a clothing drive to benefit the DAV across the street from where Palin will be speaking.  Gotta love the irony!!!

My Fellow Americans,

As the Iowa Chair of Veterans for Obama, I was thinking of ways to best welcome Sarah Palin when she visits Des Moines this Saturday. Knowing that jobless rates are up and temperatures are going down, I heard about Sarah Palin needing extra help with clothing recently and thought there might be others who really need the help. So, I thought we might do a clothing drive across the street from her event and donate to the Disabled American Veterans. (By the way, they rate Obama's voting record at 90% and McCain's at 20%.)

http://www.bleedingheartland.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=2105

If you are in the area and can help with a donation or volunteer, show up at 777 Third St.  Look for the truck with the American Flag, Airborne and Obama stickers.

As the local chairman points out (and he should have pointed out Obama rates much higher than McCain):

I've got clothes I can give to this drive on Saturday. Disabled Veterans of America is a group worth supporting. Note from the above e-mail that Obama rates higher on their scorecard than McCain.

Speaking of scorecards, the non-partisan Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America released their own scorecards for members of Congress recently.

John McCain earned a D, because he did not co-sponsor the post-9/11 GI bill and voted for only three of the nine bills supported by the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America. McCain missed more than half of the Senate votes this year.

Barack Obama earned a B for co-sponsoring the GI Bill and voting with veterans five out of nine times. Obama has also missed quite a few votes, though not as many as McCain.

I wonder if Sarah has anything she can donate to the cause...

I would love to see clothing donation spots popping up across from every Palin and McLame campaign stop from now to election day.

Super delicious computer company Apple today came out against Proposition 8, which would (say it with us!) overturn gay marriage in California. From a message left in the "hot news" section of Apple's website: Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first [...]

Since Sarah Palin was everyone's favorite guest-star on Saturday Night Live last weekend, she might have some job prospects waiting for after she loses her VP bid. "Any television person who sees the numbers when she appears on anything would say Sarah Palin would be great," said veteran morning-show producer Steve Friedman, citing the double-digit ratings [...]
Whoa! We know the Log Cabin Republicans get a lot of shit from the more liberal lavender set and it probably hurts their feelings, but the group's reaction resembles that of the far-right. Echoing language employed by the likes of Focus on the Family, LCR president Patrick Sammon today sent out an email entitled "The [...]

Former Californian Congressman and current Senatorial hopeful Tom Campbell, a Republican, today came out against Proposition 8, which would overturn the California Supreme Court's gay marriage ruling. Though Campbell agrees judges shouldn't be making such decisions, he still vows to vote no on Proposition 8. It was really quite a stretch for the California Supreme Court [...]

We like freedom of speech. Hell, we've made a living on it, but some right-wingers are clearly abusing their American right when it comes to Barack Obama's short campaign break, which he's using to visit his ill grandmother: Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, and Jerome Corsi suggested or asserted that the true purpose of Sen. Barack Obama's [...]

Westboro Baptist Church has a hectic schedule! Not only will they be protesting Oklahoma State University's production of The Laramie Project, about the brutal anti-gay beating of Matthew Shepard, but the group will also head to Florida to participate in a debate on Amendment 2, which ban gay marriage and anything even remotely resembling gay [...]
England hasn't executed a prisoner since 1964, and capital punishment has been off the books since 1998, but anti-gay activist Stephen Green thinks it's about time the nation get back to taking lives. The electoral gay-baiting has spread to Missouri! According to that state's Republican party, "extreme liberals" are all backing potential state representative Kristy Manning because, as a Democrat, the politico will institute free-wheeling abortions, gay marriage and all sorts of other sick shit.
