When we're in a national emergency like this, it's time to put out the Bat Signal...the Obama Bat Signal. (Goodnight, Raleigh):
![]()
The bat signal is a modified spotlight to project the iconic bat symbol into the sky or onto a building to contact and request the presence of Batman in the case of an emergency. The Obama signal above appears to indicate we are in an emergency and his assistance is needed to get us out of it.
"The London vicar who performed a 'gay wedding' for two homosexual clergy in his church in the City is to escape without any sanction or reprimand, The Times has learnt. The Bishop of London, the Right Rev Richard Chartres, launched an investigation after the Rev Martin Dudley presided at a Prayer Book-style service of blessing [...]
Journo John Ridley today took on people's claims that Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama because they're both black. In debunking those arguments, Ridley points out that Powell has never endorsed previous - and less famous - black candidates in the past. The commentator then provides this run down: …A person of color has run for the [...]
Right-wingers have some crazy notions about us gays. We're responsible for all sorts of social and natural ills - AIDS, Katrina, no white after Labor Day. And now we're apparently responsible for human trafficking. That's why, according to some social conservatives, California must pass Proposition 8, the ballot measure intended to overturn gay marriage: Prop 8 [...]

Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley's long been a pro-gay advocate, but that doesn't mean he's backing the city's potential gay high school. In fact, he's against it. One day after his handpicked school board put off a vote on the School for Social Justice Pride Campus, Daley explained why — by expressing his misgivings. "You have to [...]
Oh, how we love French photo duo Exterface! Their work always gives us a boost on otherwise limp afternoons, and their latest spread - Animale Rhapsody - doesn't disappoint. See some NSFW shots after the jump. You'll be glad you did. CONTINUED » Permalink | 3 comments | Add to del.icio.us | Digg Post tags: Art, Exterface, France, Gay, Photography
"Elisabeth Hasselbeckâs pro-Sarah Palin point of view could be put to work this weekend. ABC confirms that The View star has been invited by the Republican vice presidential nominee to appear at two weekend rallies. A rep for Hasselbeck confirms that sheâll be attending two rallies in Florida on Sunday, one in Tampa at noon [...]
Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani has erected a new website site, Join Rudy 2012, which leads us to believe he's hoping the next president only makes it one term. Or he just likes the attention. Wait, Rudy, didn't you drop out of the primary because people didn't like your comedic cross-dressing past? Or was [...]
You'll never guess where Frida Hyvönen hails from - okay, okay, you've probably guessed: Sweden. Yeah, we admit it: we have an addiction to Swedish sounds. We're working through it. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy these two tracks from the folks singer: "I Drive My Friend" and "The Modern." CONTINUED » Permalink | post a comment [...]
Of all the people we've interviewed over the years, Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum's one of the most inspirational. And awesome. A spunky, socially aware New Jersey native, Kleinbaum currently presides over New York's queer-inclusive synagogue, Congregation Beth Simchat Torah. Aside from her Orthodox upbringing, Kleinbaum cites her background in Yiddish literature as one of the reasons why [...]
We all love Anderson Cooper. (It would be UnAmerican not to!) And no one wants to make America's silver fox out to be some sort of hypocrite or anything - he's certainly a good, down to earth journalist, but can we just pause and call bullshit for a second? This scares us: "At the Institute of Food Research in Norwich, England, food expert Peter Wilde and colleagues are developing foods that slow down the digestive system, which then triggers a signal to the brain that suppresses appetite. 'That fools you into thinking you've eaten far too much when you really haven't,' said Wilde. From [...]
"Failing to ban gay marriage in the state constitution could result in the indoctrination of schoolchildren into a gay lifestyle, supporters of Amendment 2 said today." Those people should take a look at California school superintendent John O'Connell's commercial decrying such false, panic-driven arguments. Some people never learn - like, for example, South North Carolinian DJ Joshua Waldon Weaver. Currently on probation for not revealing his HIV status to three lovers with whom he had unprotected sex, Weaver has now found himself under six-months house arrest after again transmitting perhaps tainted sperm. Fool. On Sept. 6, Q-Notes reported that Weaver, [...]
And we thought things were bad in Ohio! North Carolina's overzealous Republican party has been mailing out literature that claims Democratic Senatorial candidate Kay Hagan's an agent of - gasp! - the homosexual agenda. Hide the children! By electing Hagan over Republican Elizabeth Dole, the mailer claims, voters will be opening the door to a vast [...]
The proverbial puss has been let out of the bag! Mormon elder M. Russell Ballard, a man the "faithful" regard as a prophet, admitted in a church message this week that his church's schemes against gay marriage are more than just policy - it's personal. And part of some post-life, VIP theocracy. Said Ballard: We know that [...]

"The schools need to get out of the bedroom and back to the 3 Râs. This is why Johnny still canât read because the children are being used as pawns to further a political agenda. We should be helping them out of that lifestyle, not helping them into it." - Oh-so-concerned parent Kathy Reese on [...]
The rotund gent you see at right is being indicted in the city of New York for snatching a McCain campaign sign from the hands of a middle-aged woman, snapping it in half and then punching the GOP supporter, who's been described as "small" and "quiet," in the face. Witnesses to the assault said the [...]
