Remember when Alan Grayson was chastised for opining about what health care reform would look like in a GOP plan?
1. Don't get sick.
2. If you do get sick...
3. Die quickly.
Well he wasn't wrong. Look at what's cooking in the GOP pot for America.
I'm sorry, if the Republicans want to bash the Dem plan on legitimate policy grounds, first you have to bring a plan to the table based on reality. The primary problem with our broken system is 1) lack of access to insurance, 2) under coverage by insurance, 3) denial of coverage for specious reasons (being pregnant, or a victim of domestic abuse). Unless the GOP has a safety net for these circumstances, it needs to STFU. I can't wait to see the full revelation of this garbage.Republicans are preparing to unveil their own health bill in the next few days. Minority Leader John Boehner (R., Ohio) said Monday that the plan wouldn't seek to prevent health-insurance companies from denying sick people insurance -- a key plank of the Democrats' legislation.
Instead, the bill would allow insurance firms to sell policies across state lines, permit small businesses to pool their risks to bring down costs, change medical-malpractice laws and give state governments more flexibility to pursue rule changes.
As The Grateful Dead once sang: "What a long, strange trip it's BEEN!"
But it all comes down to TOMORROW.
Will Maine show herself to be a state that is fair?
Will Maine 'put a ring on it'?
Here is what FiveThirtyEight's Nate Silver thinks...
More below the fold.
Among the attendees were some bloggers we all know: Jeremy Hooper, Adam Bink and Julia Rosen!
While it is true that over 90% of No On 1's 8000+ volunteers are Mainers, there is no question in anyone's mind that our "friends from away" have been invaluable.
That folks have come from all corners of the country to help, that people from all around the globe have donated their time, money or both- it's overwhelming.
Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.
Here's some of my favorite clips from today's rally:

1-MORE-DAY, folks...
Just got this:
The "Drive for Equality" hotel in South Portland still has space available, and the staging locations still need volunteers.(A) We are providing FREE HOTEL ROOM SPACE for anyone from out-of-state who can make a spur-of-the-moment decision to drive up here, and volunteer. We have actually managed to recruit a few people at the last minute, and I know we can do more if the word gets out.
(B) The hotel is in South Portland. We have a block of rooms for tonight and tomorrow night, so people can stay until Wednesday.
(C) We're down by 4 points in the last poll -- this election is coming down to the last day-and-a-half. We could very well lose, simply because we don't have enough troops on the ground. New Hamsphire and Boston folks can easily get here -- and we will put them up if need be.
(C) People who sign up at the website will get a call back within 15 minutes.
(D) Our phone number -- someone will always answer it -- is 415-935-4552.
